Jim Parkin

Jim grew up on the plains of South Dakota . He has been photographing people, places and things since high school. During his engineering career, he also did free-lance portrait, commercial, and stock photography on a part-time basis and has taught photography in his spare time. He has won awards in many competitions and has been published in trade publications and consumer magazines.

After 37 years in industry, he and his wife Jeannette retired to pursue other interests. For Jim, this was a concentration on fine art landscape and nature photography; areas that he had always enjoyed but never had the time to fully explore.

In 1999, Jim and Jeannette sold their home and started traveling full time in a motorhome. This gave them the freedom to visit family and friends throughout North America and to photograph the unlimited beauty of the country. Their travels have taken them from Alaska to Florida and from California to Newfoundland , Canada , and most of the states and provinces in between.

Jim hopes you enjoy viewing these images as much as he enjoyed making them.
